DLPTF & the CITB
The DLPTF and CITB acknowledge the mutual benefits of working closely together and provide a structured, proven support framework to the benefit of the DLPTF members.
In the last 24 months the collaboration between the two organisations has increased significantly with a more organised approach being taken by both parties to address key skills development and learning capabilities.
CITB take a lead role in developing training strategy and influencing supply and funding for the whole construction sector, including specialists. This combined with the DLPTF co-operation means that both organisations work closely with the Governments and its departments such as the Department of Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS), employers and other relevant bodies.
CITB SUPPORT FOR INDUSTRY
The CITB are the Industry Training Board and a partner in the Sector Skills Council for the construction industry in England, Scotland and Wales.
CITB’s role is to work with industry to encourage training, which helps build a safe, professional and fully qualified workforce.
The support and funding we provide helps companies to improve skills, increase their competitiveness and respond to challenges such as the low carbon agenda, reducing costs on site and recruiting the best talent for their sector.

LEVY & GRANT
Working together with the CITB and Levy paying DLPTF members our aim to increase understanding of the complete Levy and Grant structure. By increasing knowledge amongst both existing and prospective members of the DLPTF we aim to improve the reach and range of both DLPTF and CITB based learning options and thereby improve skill and learning across the specialist sector.

Levy Framework Explained
One of the clear messages that comes thought is that is often thought difficult and complicated to understand the Levy and how it all works. The DLPTF - CITB collaboration seeks to make it as simple as possible to understand what it is, what it is not and how to get an understanding of how to make it work for you.
Both the CSCS and CITB consider training to be an essential part of a successful construction business portfolio of activities. By providing training to you employees not only do you improve intrinsic skills within the business you also improve the likelihood of higher levels of employee engagement.

Research relating to the Apprenticeship dynamic suggests that well over 36,000 apprentice recruits are needed each year for the next five years to keep up with demand in construction. Working together the DLPTF and CITB seek to make accessing Apprentices and Apprentice recruitment process as easy as possible. This includes assisting DLPTF members accessing the Grant where applicable.
